ANONYMOUS
by Will May

If you’re worried I’m so close to you now,
Tell your heart that if any may, Will may,
And Will, come what may, shall show it how
To love until the fire of judgement day.
May sun demands the loving of May’s son;
Ill-will towards my will will leave me ill
Without the joy of pitting your will one
Against my will, and so two wills to distil.
Dismaying that I may not write, ‘Your Will’,
Willing you not to say Will May might not;
Of all shan’ts, won’ts, woulds, coulds I’ve had my fill,
The man who made subjunctives should be shot.
Make but my name your prompt, promptly to say
That you love me for my name is Will May.
