THE FUGITIVE
A QM PRODUCTION

The Fugitive aired from 1963 to 1967 on the ABC network and was one of the most popular programs of the 1960s. It starred David Janssen as 'Dr. Richard Kimble', the man on the run accused of a crime he didn't commit. Barry Morse starred as 'Lt. Philip Gerard', the police officer under whose watch Kimble escaped and the man responsible for his recapture.

Many people believe that Barry Morse starred in all 120 episodes of the series, however he only actually appeared in 37 of the shows, and directed one more (in which he didn't appear) during the final season. However the presence of 'Lt. Gerard' was always omni-present throughout the series, even when he didn't physically appear on-screen. Even if not in all the episodes, his image appeared in the opening credits and many of the teasers featured Gerard. Seasons 1-3 of the show were shot in black and white which added to the atmosphere dramatically, while the 4th season was shot in "living color."

"Barry Morse was so good - he brought an element of reality to
Lt. Gerard that a lot of TV characters didn't have. The Fugitive
broke all the stereotypes. It was at the time (and still is when
you see the reruns) absolutely the best series done on American
television. There was nothing better than The Fugitive -
it just turned everything on its head."
